Pesticides Kill More Than Mosquitoes!

Introduction

Students! You have done the hardest part of creating change in the world: finding something you wish to change, and doing something about it! You have four days to create your presentation for the entire fourth grade to see. Good luck! I am hear to help you every step of the way! Let's save some butterflies and bees! 

Task

Each table group will work together to create different parts of our presentation. Each group will put together at least two slides of information using Powerpoint. We will then put all of our slides together and practice our presentation before Friday! 

Process

Group Number Assignment
Group 1: 

Your group is in charge of creating an opening page (title, date, picture, 

introducing our class) and a closing page (closing message with pictures).

Group 2: 

This group will summarize the article that first got us thinging about this 

project. Use two powerpoint slides to explain the main points from the 

article: https://newsela.com/articles/mosquito-butterflies/id/11332/ 

Group 3: 

This group will research suggestions to avoid using dangerous pesticides. Google

the phrase: natural mosquito spray to create at least two powerpoint slides 

explaining what you can use instead of harmful chemicals. 

Group 4: 

This group will think of what people who don't agree might say and think of 

responses to their opinion. Think of it as a debate! 1-2 powerpoint slides. 

Group 5: 

This group will explain how the attitude of respect goes along with this issue.

Include the definition of respect and tell how respecting living things is 

important and the goal of this project! Two slides in powerpoint.

Group 6: 

This group will explain why this topic is such an issue now. Think about

the hurricane and the arial sprays they are getting ready to do. 1-2 slides. 

Evaluation

You will be evaluated on how well your group can follow directions, stay on task, respect your fellow classmates, and on how well your slides explain the issue according to your specific directions! Good luck! 

Conclusion

Your grand appearance will be at town hall on Friday, good luck! I'm so proud you will be taking action for this important issue! You should all be proud of yourselves!
