Introduction:
How many times have you seen a butterfly? Did you know that the butterfly must go through several stages before it becomes the beautiful creature we see fluttering amongst our world. A butterfly goes through a process called Metamorphosis also known as the Life Cycle. This lesson will cover the stages and interesting facts about butterflies. Lets find out more about this wonderous creature.
What is Metamorphosis? This what you are going to learn about in this lesson.
Task
The Tasks:
This lesson will help you learn more about butterflies, such as the Life Cycle and other information. You will use two websites to complete this assignment. They both will provide the information needed to complete the drawing of the Life Cycle and answer all ten questions. First, you are going to draw the Life Cycle and write a small description of each stage. Next, you will answer the 10 questions that I have provided below. Finally, you will write a short paragraph explaining why you find butterflies interesting.

I want you to look at the following websites to find the information for the tasks that are to be completed by you. The websites below will help you with this lesson. Click on the websites to find information about the Life Cycle of a butterfly and to help you answer the questions that you are to answer. First, you will make a drawing of the Life Cycle and write a brief description for each stage. Then you will use the website to answer the 10 questions. Finally, you will write a short paragraph describing why you like butterflies and why you think they are important to nature.

Create a Life Cycle drawing of a butterfly with a brief description of each stage. You must list at least three descriptions under each stage. This is worth a total of 40 points.
2. Answer the ten questions about butterflies. Each question is worth 3 points.
3. Write a short paragraph with at least 10 sentences about why you like butterflies and why they are important to nature. This is worth a total of 20 points. Two points for each complete sentence.
4. Participation is worth 10 points. By completing all three tasks you will earn 10 points.
You can earn a total of 100 points for completing the assignment.
