LEARNING DIGITAL ETIQUETTE

The internet is a great tool to use for various reasons, but you need to know how to use it properly. This webquest will teach you how to use digital etiquette when you're learning to use the internet.

Task

WORK WITH A PARTNER ON THIS WEBQUEST

By the end of this webquest, you should:

  • Don't forget your manners.
  • Learn how to properly and safely use the internet while being respectful.
  • Complete a BrainPop quiz and activity sheet. 
  • Use Betty's Netiquette Quiz to better understand Digital Etiquette. 
  • Have fun and be smart while on the internet. 

Process

First: Go to BrainPop and watch the video about Digital Etiquette. During this video you can take notes, to make it easier for you later. (pause the video as needed)

Second: After you have finished the video, "Take the Quiz" and hit the Graded button. When you finish the quiz, review your answers and print it out! 

Third: Scroll just a little bit on the same page and click on "Activities". Complete the Activity worksheet by matching the terms and fillng out the Think About It box. Print this page when you are done!

Finally: To help you better understand Digital Etiquette, go and take Betty's Nettiquette Quiz!

Therefore, students need to know how to use the internet safely and respectively. This webquest introduces students to digital etiquette. It guides them through the "rights and wrongs" on the internet, and explains the importance of online manners. Through this I hope that teachers, parents, and students learn information about Digital Etiquette.
