Introduction
Hello, scientists!
Today we are going to learn about food chains in different habitats and why they are so important. Without every part of a food chain, some animals and plants would become extinct. Every part of the food chain is necessary for the rest of the food chain to function as it should. You are going to use your knowledge of food chains and habitats to create a food chain that would be present in your habitat.
Task
You are going to choose a habitat and click on the link next to that habitat.
The link will take you to a website filled with information about that habitat and plants and animals located there.
As you read through the website, you will fill out the worksheet that you have been given. You need to record the types of animals and plants located in that habitat.
After you have read through the website and filled out your worksheet, you will label each item that you have written down as producer, consumer, or decomposer. If an animal is labeled as a consumer, you need to identify whether or not it is an herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore. This information will help you in placing your animals and plants in the proper order on the food chain.
