Introduction

¡Bienvenidos!  

Do you know what people eat in Spain?  Have you tried food from Spain?

There are many countries that share the Spanish language and culture.  One of the many aspects of the culture  is food.  Food is very different from Spanish speaking country to Spanish speaking country even if they speak the same language.  

You are going to "travel" to Spain for an special event. You want to discover what people in Spain eat and in the process learn more about the Spanish culture.

Task

You will research Spanish food. You will then create a Spanish menu including:

  • 6 authentic Spanish foods with a one sentence description or more of the food

    (a picture of the food would be preferred!)

  • 4 desserts with a one sentence description or more of the food (a picture of the food would be preferred!)

  • Prices of the menu items in Euros and American Dollars

Process

1. Using only the links at the bottom, select six main dishes and four desserts. 

2. Submit your selection to the teacher on a GD.

3. You will work with a partner selected by your teacher.  She will tell you the name of your partner as soon as she gets your selection. Find your partner and begin to work quietly.

4. You will have to convince your partner your food choice is the best for your restaurant. You will need to turn in only one menu for both. Menu example:  http://www.tascarestaurant.com/menu.html

5. This is your menu.  Take pride in it and make it awesome, it must be a place anyone would love to go to eat. Think in terms of color, readability, design, font... You can create your own design or use some free templates from:

6. You must have the following items in your menu:

  • The name of your restaurant at the top (en español). 

  • Six main dishes and four desserts, with their Spanish names, chosen from the sites below.

  • Include a one to two sentence description (in English) and a picture of the food.

  • Prices of the menu items in Euros and American Dollars. Here is a currency converter you can use: http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/

7. Submit your menu to GC.
