Texas WebQuest

Introduction

Welcome to your first day working for a travel magazine.

Your first assignment you have been given is to research and create a travel article for the great state of Texas. Work with your partner to find out the history, culture, influences, and hot spots to visit in Texas. You two must first find the information before publishing the article.

There are three different tasks to be completed before submitting your final copy. One partner will complete task 1 and 2, the other will complete task 3. Then, you will work together to write the article using information from both partners.

Task

You and your partner have been selected to create this article. The article has to be enticing for the tourist but it also has to talk about the culture and history of Texas so the tourist get the full package to understand why this state is so amazing. Since this will take a while, you will divide the article into four tasks in order to make it easy for you.

Task 3: Interesting Places and Spanish influence in Texas

Task 1

For task one we want to know about the history of Texas, how did this piece of land become a state of the United States. We want to know what happened before it became part of the union. Its relationship with other nations. What battles took place in here. Why it is that Texans are so proud of their rich history. Task 2

For task two, we want to know a little more about Texas culture. Why it is that there is such different cultures in this state. How is the Texan way of living. What traditions Texans hold dear and what sport do Texans love above all others. In these sites you will finds some interesting information to help you with that.

Task 3

For task three, we want to get a hold of what touristic places we can find in Texas. Why are they interesting? What is important about these places? In addition, we want to know why it is said that Texas is one of the most successful states in the USA. Is it because of their economy, their way of living? Task 4

For task four you have to get together to share the information each of you have, in order to create a compelling article that describes the history of Texas, how it has influenced people today, the culture of the state, and things that you can do there. The article should include pictures and as much information as possible. Feel free to use the template I have provided, or create your own! I If you create your own article or presentation, make sure to include all of the information asked for on the template. You could even create a google slides and share it with me through google classroom or on my school email. Get creative and prove what you learned!
