APA Citation rules

Introduction

It is a typical problem for people to cite other people's work correctly when they make a report.  

 

In this webquest you will explore the rules and practice citing different kinds of sources correctly.

Explore the sections and the tasks, for you to become a citation-pro.

 

 

Task

We have been exploring the ideas of plagiarism and formatting of your reports, but now we will explore these aspects in depth looking at the internationally accepted APA rules, which researchers everywhere use all the time.

You will follow the links that appear in the "Process" tab, and complete the tasks presented there, and at the end you will produce a google drive document in which you show your understanding of how to use APA rules.

Process

Look at the following video which explains how to cite different sources according to APA rules.   Use different examples to create your own citations.

Look at some of the materials you have been citing in your reports and create the citations.

Evaluation

Discuss with your partners and give each other corrections on the use of citations based on what you wrote in your reports.  Watch the video for reference and check with your teachers.

 

 

Conclusion

After working on this webquest, you will have practiced using APA rules for citations in your report.

You will also be better prepared so you never get accused of plagiarism from now on.
