Task

Image result for research paper grading      You will research a charity of your choice to gather information about that charity.  Then you will try to persuade your readers to donate to your charity.

Process

Use the listed websites to find out more about some popular charities you may be familiar with or do a Google Search to find out more about one you know about.  Gather information such as:

  • Who does the charity help?
  • How does the charity help that group?
  • How old is the charity?
  • Why / how was it formed?
  • What is donated money used for?
  • How many donors does this group have on average each year?
  • How much of your donation does directly to the group in need?
  • Do you (the donor) get information about how your money was used?

Be prepared to write a paper about the charity you chose telling us some of the listed information above, but also be prepared to tell the reader why this charity is important to you and why the reader should give money to this particular charity.  YOUR JOB IS TO PERSUADE THE READER TO GIVE TO YOUR CHARITY.  You will need to REBUT why this charity is BETTER than another charity that helps the same group, so make sure there is a second similar charity for you to reference in the conclusion of your paper.
