Tribute Qualifications WebQuest

Introduction

Today you are embarking on an adventure that will take you into the minds and lives of the tributes in the Hunger Games. You have read the book and now it is time to put your knowledge to the test! Continue to the "Task" tab to accept this mission.

Task

You have been selected to be the tribute from your district and no one volunteered for you, so you are on your own. This webquest is going to test your abilities, so may the odds be ever in your favor! Continue to the "Process" tab to learn what this project entails!

Process

Task One: You are to visit the Task One link on the Credits tab and look through the pictures. Choose a picture and pretend that it was taken in your District. Write 1-2 paragraphs about what your life was like growing up in this District and how if affects you personally as a tribute going into the Hunger Games, based off of your picture. You will need to include a description of:

  • Your parent's occupations.
  • What you do in your free time.
  • Your education.
  • How this will affect your chances of winning the Hunger Games.

Task Two: You are to visit the Task Two link on the Credits tab and take the "Tribute Trials" questionnaire. Answer these questions based on the lifestyle you created. Choose five images and answer the corresponding questions. Write down each characteristic, as you will use them in the next task. Remember, you are answering these questions like you are in the Hunger Games.

Task Three: You are to create a Facebook page for yourself as a tribute in the Hunger Games. Use the Task Three link on the Credits tab to create your Facebook page. You need to include:

  • Upload a profile picture.
  • Fill in the personal information section (including the characteristics from the previous task).
  • Write four statuses (three to four sentences each) persuading sponsors to support you during the Hunger Games.
  • Write a paragraph goodbye post to your family and/or friends.
  • View and examine classmate's profiles and choose two peers that you would become allies with in the Hunger Games. Include the name and profile picture of your two allies in the "Friends" section of your Facebook profile.

If you have extra time, continue to the Evaluation tab.

Once you have completed all three tasks, continue to the Conclusion tab!

Evaluation

Re-visit the Task Two link on the Credits tab and complete the "Trial by Fire" questionnaire.

Conclusion

Congratulations, all of your hard work paid off and you have survived the Hunger Games!
