Introduction
Bienvenue!
You are about to embark on an exploration of the captivating regions of France. By the end of your exploration, you and your partner will be experts on a selected region. You will then be required to share your knowledge with your fellow classmates using a digital presentation of your choice. You may choose to present the information in the form of a PowerPoint, or any other multimedia format such as a photo story, a digital scrapbook, a video or a podcast.
Background
Mainland France is divided into 13 regions. Five other regions are islands and are located around in different parts of the worlds. These 5 regions include the islands of Corsica, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana and Reunion.
Each region is further divided into departments and asserts its unique history, culture and tradition. Click the following links to access a list of the regions:

Process
Step 1: If working alone, go to step 3
Step 2: Select a partner
Select a responsible partner to work with.
Step 3: Select a Region
Click on the following links and browse through the information to get some background knowledge on each region.

Then, with your partner, agree on ONE region that you would be interested in exploring.
Get your teacher’s approval to explore that particular region.
(Note that regions will be assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis.)
Step 4: Select Roles
Once your selected region has been approved, negotiate the roles you will assume throughout the assignment. Roles may include: Task Manager, Designer, Reporter etc.
Step 5: Explore the Information
Embark on your exploration to find answers to the following questions:
Geography
- What is the French and English name or your regions?
- Where is your region located? (Show on a map)
- What other regions, countries, bodies of water or mountains border your regions?
- What is the capital city of your region? What are some other important cities located in that region.
- What is the predominant climate of your region?
History:
- What important historical event or events occurred in your region?
Economy
- What are the main economic activities of that region? (Tourism? Industry? Agriculture?... )
Culture
- What unique customs, traditions, architectures or site is your region is known for?

Use photos to enhance your presentation.
Your quiz should address the specific information requested in the table.

Step 6: Prepare your Presentation and Quiz
Agree on a format for your presentation, and work on putting it together.
Step 7: Be Ready to Present (See attached checklist)
Use the attached checklist to ensure that you have all the required information for your presentation.
