The Humanity of Man

Introduction

This web quest is intended for to be the closing activity for junior English after reading William Golding's classic Lord of the Flies. The completion of this Website will culminate in having a deeper understanding of the social connection of the literary works studied this year and the ongoing discussion as to whether or not man (woman) is inherently good or evil.

Introduction:

You are stranded on an island with twelve other people. How you got there is not important. what matters is how you and the others handle governing the island while awaiting what you hope to be a successful rescue. Some of those you are stranded with are Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, King Duncan,  MacDuff, Ebenezer Scrooge, Ol' Marley, Bob Cratchitt,  Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Utterson, and Mr. Poole.

It might become dangerous, but not because of what Mother Nature has in store, but because of what Human Nature has in store...

First order of business is to evaluate their accomplishments and to decide which skills set helped them to achieve their status in life. Then, decide on each person's character, and how each adult came to their place in society.Did each person come by it through her d work and initiative, or did he or she take what they wanted through evil means. Lastly, create Venn diagrams illustrating, good, evil, transformed.

To support your final evaluation, select a quote from each work of literature from which the character is associated with and support your choice of palcein the diagrams.
