Children from Around the World

Introduction

In this assignment you will be learning about how different the lives of children are depending on where they live.  Children from all over the world view the world differently and their experiences are different even though they may be the same age.  You will discover what makes their lives different from your own.

Task

You will be assigned into groups.  Each group will learn about how a child's life is growing up in that country.

1. You will need to keep a log of the information you are finding.

2.  You will create a powerpoint presentation that you will present to the class about children in that specific country.

3.  At the end of your presentation, you will poll the class to find out which country they believe is where children have a more different life style than in the U.S.

Process

As a group, you will learn about the lives of children and how are they different from yours.

In a log, you will write down information like:

-What kind of food do they eat?

-Do they go to school? What is school like?

-What kind of clothes do they wear?

-What kind of sports do they practice?

- Anything that you think is completely different from a child's life in the United States.

Here are the assigned countries:

Group 1- Brazil               Group 4- China

Group 2- Kenya              Group 5- Japan

Group 3- Ireland              Group 6- India

After you have recorded all the information you have gathered, display it in a powerpoint presentation.

When presenting to the class every member in the group must participate.

After you are done presenting, take a poll of the class to see how many students would want to live in that country.
