Introduction
From the lands of the Luba and Lunda, also referred to in traditional accounts as Kola, the Bantu migrated into Zambia. These migrations from Kola can be roughly divided into two waves. The first wave consisted of farmers who were organized on a clan and kinship basis. These first migrations occurred before and during the formation of the Luba-Lunda states. The earliest migrations might be associated with the Luangwa Pottery style group that was introduced in large parts of Zambia and Malawi during the first centuries of the 2nd Millennium A.D. They (the migrations) can be seen to have been a continuation of the early Bantu migrations. These migrations lasted for more than 4 centuries and were very gradual.

2. Find out from your community or society why there are similarities in language among different southern African ethnic groups.
3. Using the map below, state any three centralized kingdoms in Zambia that were as a result of the luba - lunda mingation.

Evaluation
The task was handled successfully. The collaborating or discussion groups really helped the learners about the distributions of the Luba – Lunda migrations after conducting a thoroughly research.
The map also built the learners knowledge about the task hence learners were even able to identify the routes that the Luba – Lunda people had used and how this has contributed to the settlement patterns we have today.
Conclusion
some of the causes of Luba - Lunda migrations have contributed to permanent effects that are even still ongoing up to date. For instance, in territories where there are conflicts hence also contributing to the integration of culture among different ethnic groups. there has been also spread of crops as a result of these migrations.
