Music Genres

We are going to be learning about the different genres of music.This will include music in the 1970's through 2012.:)                                                                                                                     

The task for the music genres is to understand the differences of today's music from music in the past. It is the evolution of music. There are so many types of music throughout many time periods.

Lesson 1:

- Types of music in the 1970's through 1980's

Lesson 2:

- Music from the 1990's through the 2001's

- write your favorite song from the time period from your own opinion

Lesson 3:

- Types of music in the 2002's through the 2004's

- Look up a type of instrument used in one of the songs from the time period using this website (http://pitchfork.com/features/lists-and-guides/5949-the-top-100-singles-of-2000-04-part-one/)

Lesson 4:

-types of music from the 2005 through 2007

-List types of songs from the years on the website (http://www.billboard.com/archive/charts/2005/r-b-hip-hop-songs)

Lesson 5:

-Types of music from the 2008 through 2012

-Types of famous singers from the time period using the website(http://www.billboard.com/charts/year-end/2012/hot-100-songs)
