Introduction
Greetings explorer!!
Have you ever heard the expression don't blow your top?
It means not to get angry, and sometimes is expressed as a person whose head is blowing lava out of the top of it!
Ancient Hawaiians believed in Pele, the Hawaiian Goddess of Volcanoes. These Ancient Hawaiians thought Pele had frequent moments of anger, which brought about eruptions.
Science has found that Volcanic eruptions are caused by large amounts of gas pressure built up underground, which in return, erupts out of the top of a Mountain (Volcano)!
Together, we will learn what would happen if a Volcano were to erupt today, and will identify several parts of a Volcano that are involved with the eruption.
Now ready for a Volcanic adventure? Click the task button to find out what you will need to do.

Task
Hello 4th Graders! You and your team are given information about 3 specific parts of a volcano. Your mission is to identify the three parts, which correspond with each picture. Following the next section you are given information on how to figure out which parts of a volcano correspond with the pictures underneath. Once you have read the information about the parts of a volcano, write which part of the volcano each picture is demonstrating next to it, and report back to your teacher when you're finished. GOOD LUCK! 😄
