Introduction
This WebQuest activity is designed for 9th grade, 14 years old, pre-intermediate, high-school CLIL students. The class capacity is 30.
Students watch a short biography provided by the links of an artist which they choose. Based on that biography, students are asked to prepare a poster by using certain features and present the poster. Then, students are evaluated by other groups.
Activities focus on listening comprehension, speaking, grammar (simple past) and irregular verbs.
Task
There are 5 different artists who have guided history and still make a name for themselves with their work and personalities. From these five artists, choose the artist you find most interesting and want to know more. You can find all the necessary information about the artists' lives and their works from the links containing short biographies.
You will be divided into groups of four (randomly selected) and sent to breakout rooms. You have 40 minutes.
Preferred peer-work (distribution of work):
3 researcher: 1 for autobiography, 1 for irregular verb work, 1 for the general work (the other)
1 spokeperson: for presentation
Process
You are asked to note important information and words while watching your chosen video. Then, using notes and additional resources you are expected to create a poster including;
- a short autobiography not exceeding 200 words, assuming you are the person you choose,
- personal or related symbol, people or person, place, name, etc. if any, visually or as text, (max 3)
- sentences containing irregular verbs under the appropriate pictures or images you find on the internet. (max 3)
ex: In Kurt Cobain Biography he says "I had a really good childhood until the divorce." a picture of a smiling family under a roof can be put.

Conclusion
Once you have finished the poster with all the details, you will return from the breakout rooms to the main room and make presentations in rows according to the room order.
