Introduction
There are so many different habitats in the world! Every living creature has a preferred habitat, and all of those preferences or, sometimes, necessities in habitats vary from species to species. Even all of your pets prefer different habitats, even when living in the same house! A habitat can refer to location, climate, objects around, any certain preferences about a living space. While your cat might prefer to lie in the sun and get some heat, your dog might prefer to lie in front of the air conditioner. Your cat and dog may not like the water, but to your goldfish, it is necessary. You can't keep a guinea pig too hot or too cold, it needs to be just right! But your lizard or snake need heat lamps strong enough to simulate a desert's temperature!
Task
You will be split into groups to do this WebQuest. Each group will use the internet resources I have provided to write down one interesting fact and one animal of each of the four included habitats from this WebQuest. Afterwards, we will come together as a class so that each group can share their findings.
Process
1. You will break off into your groups and each explore some of the links that I have provided for four different habitats: the ocean, the arctic, the rainforest, and the desert.
2. In your groups, you will explore the links and choose one fascinating animal and one fascinating detail from EACH habitat and write them down.
3. Each group will then take turns sharing their cool facts and animals.

This WebQuest was designed to help students explore the wonders of just a few of the habitats our world has to offer, and learn more about the animals who inhabit each of them.
