By the end of this activity, you will:

  2. Explain how to prepare for emergencies
  3. Create a simple family disaster preparedness plan

Step 1: Research

Browse the websites and read about common disasters in the Philippines and safety tips.

Step 2: Answer the Questions 

Write your answers in 2–4 sentences each:

  1. What is disaster preparedness?
  2. What are three common disasters in the Philippines?
  3. Why is it important to prepare before a disaster happens?
  4. What should you do before, during, and after a disaster? (choose one disaster only)

Step 3: Emergency Kit Activity

List at least 10 items that should be included in a family emergency kit.

Example: Water, Foods, Flashlight

 

Step 4: Family Emergency Plan

Create a simple emergency plan that includes:

  • Emergency contact numbers
  • Safe meeting place (inside and outside home)
  • What your family will do during a typhoon or earthquake
  • Evacuation plan (if needed)
