Introduction

In this WebQuest you will be identifying, comparing, and ordering numbers. This can be done by putting numbers in order from smallest to largest, identifying greater than, less than, or equal to. Also this can be done by identifying place value.

Task

First you need to identify weather 23.46 is >,<,= to 23.87.

Second you need to name the place value of the 4 in 23.46.

Third you need to name the place value of the 7 in 23.87.

Process

First you will go to this website and play two game from each topic. (Comparing Numbers, Ordering Numbers) These games will help you get an idea of what you are learning and help you master the concept.

Next find a partner and come get number cards and identify the place value listed on the worksheet.

Evaluation

After everyone has finished the WebQuest we will come together and share our cards together. Every group will present two cards (one each person) and answer the questions with it.

Conclusion

After the class activity I will separate the class into two halves and have a competition battle on the board where one person will come up from each group. They will have to answer the question the quickest to earn the point. Most points at the end of the game wins and will earn a prize.

Expectations:

-Be able to identify weather a number is bigger, smaller, or equal to another number.

-Be able to identify place values from ones-thousandths.

-Be able to order numbers from least to greatest and greatest to least.
