One Unit to Another

Introduction

The English System and the Metric System of Measurement is widely used in our community, a good grasp of these concepts will help you be more accurate in dealing with concepts involving lengths such as distance, perimeter, and area,  and measuring volume, and mass/weight.

Task

You and your partner must work together to research the different units of measurement used in measuring length, perimeter, area, volume, and mass/weight, and temperature. (English and Metric System). Once you have done researching the different units of measurement for length, area, perimeter, volume, mass/weight, and temperature, choose 1 category and prepare a slide - PowerPoint presentation and present it to the class.

Process

  1. Watch the following videos about converting one unit to another.
    1.

    2.

    3.
  2. Also, explore the sites under the resources to learn more about converting the different units of measurement..
  3. Once your research the different units of measurement for length, area, perimeter, volume, mass/weight, and temperature, choose 1 category that you like to present.
  4. Come to my desk so I can approve your category (length, area, perimeter, volume, mass/weight, and temperature topic.
  5. Prepare a slide presentation with the following information.
    1. Explanation of the Unit of Measurement you chose.
    2. The different units of measurement in your chosen category.
    3. Conversion table of the units in your chosen category (Provide examples)
    4. Real-life application of your chosen topic.
  6. You and your partner should be prepared to present your chosen category.
  7. When you are finished come to my desk to schedule your presentation.
