Introduction
Congratulations! You have completed reading S.E. Hinton's "The Outsiders."
In this web quest we will take a deeper look at the characters in the text to help us review what we have read.
Choose one character to do your analysis presentation on.
Once you have completed your analysis of your character, you will create a Prezi presentation and present the information to the class.
Process
Step 1:
Use the following websites, along with your book, to collect information on your chosen character. Remember to take notes! you will use this information to create your presentation.
Websites:
https://www.cliffsnotes.com/literature/o/the-outsiders/character-analysis/ponyboy-curtis
http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/outsiders/characters.html
http://www.shmoop.com/the-outsiders/characters.html
https://prezi.com/1o5qzhuu__ad/character-traits-in-the-outsiders/
Note: I do not normally count or support using Cliffsnotes, Shmoop, or Spark Notes as sources. I have carefully read these pages and feel they could be beneficial to you in this project. Please make sure to look at the "Prezi" link. There is a lot of great information in it.
Step 2:
Create a "Prezi" presentation to show the class. (You MUST use "Prezi". I know you all know how to make a powerpoint. I want you to explore "Prezi", so you have another way to present information in the future.)
In your presentation, you must touch on the following topics:
Your character's home life. (Where does your character live? Is there a strong sense of family in this character's life. Does this character live with anyone else mentioned in the story? ect.)
Is your character a Social or a Greaser? (Elaborate. How do you know? Who does he/ she associate him/ her self with? Does this character fit in with their group? ect.)
Does your character attend school? (Elaborate. How do you know? How well do they do? ect.)
What role does your character play in the story? (Pick out the main aspects of the story that your character is involved in. Explain their importance to the over all story. What would the story be like with out them?
NO ONE IS PERMITTED TO CHOOSE PONY BOY CURTIS.
