Now you will choose one of these explorers to further investigate. Choose one that you are curious about.
We will need 5 people only to investigate each explorer. Check in with the teacher and tell them who you are researching and why.

Enjoy your Learning Journey.
Evaluation
On completion of this web quest, you will gather with other students who have researched the same explorer. Your job is to report back to the rest of the class about what you have learnt about your explorer. You can do this as a drama, news report (filmed), slide show or any other way you can think of that is appropriate.
When all the groups have delivered their presentation we will have a Kahoot to see how much we have learnt together.
Conclusion
Now we have looked into some explorers of the past, we can think about what these people have in common. Together we will create a compare and contrast of these explorers.
People become explorers for many reasons. Some like adventure. Some are scientists. Some are looking for riches. Some want to make new discoveries. Some are missionaries. Whatever their reason, explorers have some important things in common - they face the unknown, they suffer hardships, and some never make it back to tell their tales.
Thinking back to the question posed in the 'Holden advertisement clip' .... Who are the modern day explorers?.... we will find out next week!
Teacher Page
Will need ear phones, concept books and prints of https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B3BETs8hpdnqr0UeA2vAivoD8UNi25ThdOmOhGUy7h8/edit to complete this activity.
Evaluation will be participation in the group presentation.
Kahoot to cover all explorers to consolidate group learning.
In persuasive writing they will use our four sentence structures to persuade the Prime Minister that this explorer deserves a National holiday in their name.
Together create a complex venn diagram of these explorers. This will act as a model for children next week when they compare and contrast past to modern explorers.
Week 3-10 children will become the explorers of the future and follow their own curiosities.
