PEOPLE IN HISTORY

Introduction

This week you will prepare a webquest about a person in history. You can choose any person you want and prepare it by following the steps below. At the end of your study, you will prepare a poster of that person.

Task

You will work in groups of 4 and from the website given choose one of the people.

  • Amelia Earthart
  • Albert Einstein
  • Frida Kahlo
  • Marie Curie
  • Stephen Hawking

Then prepare a poster about the person you have chosen. Your poster should include the following points. 

  • Insert a picture of your historical figure.
  • His/Her name.
  • His/Her date of birth.
  • His/Her hometown.
  • Where he/she spent most of his/her life.
  • What is he/she famous for?
  • Educational background etc...

You can use the links I will share with you or you can use the ones you could find.

You should hand in your work by 11th December 2020.

  • Activity 2- Do the gap filling exercise while listening to the recording. 
  • Activity 3- Watch the youtube videos that the person you have chosen below.
  • Activity 4 -While watching try to make notes for the given points.

When you have finished your poster be ready to present it to the whole class. Choose one of your peers to present it. Every group will certainly be called upon to present.

This Webquest is designed for students to prepare and present a poster of a person in history This webquest is for 15-16 years old students in high-school CLIL classroom for students of CEFR B1 level.

The students:

  • will use skimming and scanning skills.
  • will watch videos and listen to texts.
  • will develop autonomous learning skills by using past simple regular and irregular verbs.
  • will prepare a poster by using their creativity.
