Planning a trip to the United Kingdom

Introduction

It's time to make plans for the summer holiday!

Your neighbour is from the USA. She only speaks English. She wants to go on holiday to England. Or to the United Kingdom.

But... isn't that the same?

She wants to walk up a mountain. And swim in the ocean. Is that possible in the UK?

Your neighbour doesn't know. She doesn't have enough money to go to a travel agency, and she doesn't have a computer with internet.

Well, no worries. You have learned English for years now. You can help! You will find all the information she needs to choose a holiday in the UK. Oh, your neighbour and her husband have 2 children.

- You will make a map of the United Kingdom.

               And you will find out:

- Is England the same as the United Kingdom?

- Which countries are in the United Kingdom?

- Can I swim in the ocean in the UK? And climb a mountain? What else is there to do on a holiday?
