Introduction
I am an agriculturist, and as an agriculturist I will investigate how plastic waste impacts ocean life and find solutions to reduced pollutions.
Task
I will tell my students that your task is to create a presentation that proposes actionable steps for reducing plastic waste in our community.
Process
- Step 1: Research the impact of plastic waste on oceans.
- Step 2: Find local organizations that focus on reducing plastic waste.
- Step 3: Develop a proposal with concrete solutions.
Evaluation
Students will be graded according to this rubrics:
- 10 points: Presentation is well-researched and offers innovative solutions.
- 5 points: Use of visuals to support the argument.
Conclusion
I've now learned how plastic affects our oceans and explored real-life solutions. One way I can reduce waste in my daily life is by making simple changes like cutting out single-use plastics. For instance, I plan to always carry a reusable water bottle and coffee cup, and I’ll use cloth bags for shopping instead of plastic ones. This not only reduces waste but also sets an example for others. I’ll also focus on minimizing food waste by meal planning more effectively, storing leftovers properly, and even starting a compost bin for food scraps. When I share these practices with friends and family--whether through casual conversations or social media—I can inspire them to make similar changes. I could even gift reusable items like metal straws or cloth shopping bags, showing how easy and practical it is to switch. I believe that by making these small changes and sharing my journey, I can encourage others to join in reducing waste and living more sustainably.
