When words are in this format it is a task, you must write it down in your notebook to look/go back to later. If it is in this format, it is a question.

I don't know much about crime and stuff, so if it seems a bit off just let me know, I'll try my best to edit it. There will be dialogue so don't be confused when you see it. Some of the dialogue doesn't even connect to the questions but, do I care? Nope. If you feel a bit uncomfortable about the subject and you don't want to do this Web Quest,  no worries. Just go quest somewhere else :)

Process

         Rape in a Gendered World

It is a cold night and you're working in your office when your superior walks in and drops a manila folder on your desk.

"What's this?" You ask, picking up the folder and examining it. You're superior takes out their phone before glancing at you.

"A new case about a lady called Emma Smith, I expect you can answer my questions, with this being part of your training and all?" They asked, and you immediately nodded.

"Of course."

"Good." They said, leaving you to your work. You opened the folder and looked at its contents, first, you asked yourself some questions.

Why is rape most likely to occur with women instead of men and what evidence is there?

You clicked through your computer and found a website. You found this website: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/sexual-victimization-by-women-is-more-common-than-previously-known/ . You took notes on it, writing down some of the reasons rape seemed more likely to occur with women.

Next, you searched online for rape statistics for men and women. You found this website, giving you statistics for men, women, races, etc. https://www.nsvrc.org/statistics. You wrote down 2 (or more) statistics for in the U.S., school campus, impact, and reports of crime. You kept in mind that you had notes.

Afterwords, you did some research to answer another question that came to your head. How often does rape occur? You did some research and took notes. You then did some more research on topics such as The motives behind rape, Do people rape because it happened to them in their childhood, Serious rape laws, Penalty's/Punishments for raping, you took notes on this.

Once you finished that, you looked at the questions in the manila folders that your superior had left for you. It was ridiculous to you, and would forever be, that a part of your training to be a full-time detective, was answering questions about global things dealing with your case. You always felt like a child back in school again, but a voice in your head told you it was for the best, so you were aware of things going on in your everyday life.

You had to answer 3 questions before summarizing your report of research, and then being able to actually to get on the case with your superior. Annoyance was a friend who visited you often.

            1. Why might a women be rape? (You may choose 1 or more)

A. Because of "Suggestive clothing".          B. My friend dared me to.

C. Thought the women was "into" them.     D. Expression of Power.

           2. Which of the following, can you be accused of rape for? (You may choose 1 or more)

A. Sexual Abuse of a minor                          B. Poking some random lady

C. Sexual Abuse resulting in death             D. Harassment

          3. List 3 or more statistics of rape in different places

1._________________________

2._________________________

3._________________________

Write a summary that includes what you have learned, for example: Why women are more likely to be rape over men, rape statistics, how often rape occurs, motives behind rape, laws against rape, etc. 5 Sentences or more for you to complete your summary.

You finished your assignment, stretching in relief. You could finally go with your superior to go solve a case. You walked to your superiors office and layed the manila folders on their desk. They looked up at you and smirked.

"You ready?"

"Of course, when have I not?"
