Introduction

We all love festivals and especially learning from different cultures around the world. Today, there is a especial and yummy one in England, do you know what is its name? Yes...it's Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday.

Have you ever dreamt about a day that you could eat as many as pancakes as you will? Well, it's possible at Pancake Day. It sounds interesting, doesn't it?

Task

At the end of this project, you should be able to:

  • Use vocabulary connected with the process of making pancakes: nouns, verbs, main ingredients.
  • Tell in English the procedure and the recipe of making pancakes.
  • Prepare and present a presentation about the recipe, the traditions in England on that day, etc.
  • Give advice to a person who has eaten too many pancakes and goes to the doctor's (based on the previous lesson).

There are some steps in the WebQuest and you should follow them in order:

Step 1- Research for traditional recipes on the Internet

  • Find out the ingredients and what the traditional pancake is.
  • Find the recipe of a traditional pancake and make a list of the products you need.
  • Find out the order in preparing.

Step 2-Train vocabulary connected with the preparation of pancakes

Step 3- Now when you are experts on pancakes, search for information about Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday in England.

  • When is Pancake Celebrated and why?
  • What is the meaning of Shrove Tuesday?
  • How do British celebrate this day?
  • What happens on British streets?

Step 4- Now, after the Pancake celebration you realised that maybe you have eaten too many pancakes and your stomach hurts. Give some advice about what I should do.
