Animal migration has fascinated humans for millennia. There are many other forms of animal migration, including journeys between east and west ,and vertically journeys through water of the oceans and lakes. Migrating animals are found in all major branches of the animal kingdom such as fish, insects, crustaceans, amphibians, mammals etc.
The best-known insect migrant is the monarch butterflies.

Migration is defined as the regular movement of animals each year between separate breeding and wintering grounds. There are many different types of migratory behavior, ranging from completely sedentary populations to populations that are completely migratory. The animals use both internal maps and compasses to find their way during migration. The mechanisms used by animal to orientate during migration are still largely unknown and are currently the subject of ongoing research.
