Mayday! Mayday! Mayday!

Something is wrong with the motherboard. Help us! We are lost. We are stuck on....

That was the last that we heard from Mission 1992.

I need your help locating the Mission 1992. They landed somewhere in outer space and we don't know if Mission 1992 landed on the moon or another planet.

Calling ALL ASTRONAUTS to suit up and explore outer space.

Task

The mission:

Once you are suited up and ready to go I need everyone to get into their assigned groups for TAKEOFF!

We will be exploring the Solar System. You will break off into two groups. Groups A and B. Group A will explore the inner planets and Group B will explore the outer planets.

Please take note of everything that you see so that Mission 1992 is located and returned.

Once you have located Mission 1992 crew you are to ensure their health and safety and return to Earth.

Once this eVenture is completed each of you will be using the information you gathered during the journey to complete the following assignments.

1. Create a 3D replica of the solar system

2. Present to the class one fun fact about our Solar System or an element of space travel using a variety of different media.

SAFE TRAVELS Astronauts!

Process

As you space commander I am relying on you to accomplish the mission.

Here is the list of requirements to ensure success:

Take NOTES during your mission. You will need this information to rely back to your space commander. You must include whatever FACTS you find about outer space or element you've seen. You will need to include the planets color, size, and distinguishing features.

You will have to create a replica of the Solar System. Before I got promoted to Space Commander I had a similar mission. I had to report everything that I saw in outer space.

Here is a list of ideas:

1. Create a Simple Solar System mobile craft made from recycled circular foams, yarn and foam balls in assorted sizes.

2. Create a Solar system craft using a clothes hanger.

3. Create a candy Solar system (each candy represents a planet).

4. Create a Solar System Cake.

5. Create a Solar System Snow Globe.
