Spanish Festivals!

Everyone knows that Spain is synonymous with fun and fiestas, and it is true that this part of the Iberian Peninsula is home to some crazy Spanish festivals. From throwing tomatoes at one another to burning the enormous figures people spent a year creating, the best Spanish festivals are quite out of the ordinary.

Task

What is the origin of the most popular festivals in Spain? When are they celebrated? Where do they take place? Which are the most curious facts about them? Any tips for tourists visiting them?

You have to look for that information imagining that you are a group of 5 journalists working for a Tourism Magazine which will publish this month an article about the most famous Spanish festivals.

You will have to present all the information to the Director of the magazine and eventually, write a short article that sumps up the most important details of the festivals presented.

Process

In group of 5 you will analyse the following festivals:

1. San Fermines

2. La Tomatina

3. Las Fallas

4. Carnival

5. La Feria de Abril

Each member of the group will be in charge of one of them and must provide the following information:

Origins, place, date, typical costumes, curiosities and any other facts that you consider important.

You will elaborate a presentation of all of them (powerpoint, video, wiki) to show it to the Director of the Magazine. Finally, all together you will have to write a short article for the magazine showing the most interesting points.
