Introduction
You are a member of a North American Indian tribe! In order to survive and live life to the fullest each member of the tribe has a responsibility. Some hunt, some sew, some cook, some watch children, others gather, and everyone works together for the good of the community. You are one of the chosen from your tribe to gather food, clothing, and shelter to prepare for winter. You have a feeling that this winter will be especially cold, so you and your group want to make sure to collect plenty of food, clothing, and sturdy shelters to keep out the cold. The survival of your tribe depends on it!

Task
Your job is to choose TWO of the regions where Native Americans lived in North America. When you have chosen which two groups you want to join, use the links, videos, and sites listed in the process tab to figure out what kind of food you need to hunt or gather and how to obtain said food. Then find out where to get and how to make clothing for your tribe. Finally, explain what kind of shelter your people live in and how it is made. Once you have written all the required information, draw a picture of the food, clothing, and shelter of your region, then write a paragraph comparing and contrasting your two regions. The more detailed you are in your journal the likelier your tribe will have a safe and prosperous winter!
To do:
1. Pick TWO regions to research.
Arctic, Northwest, Southwest, Plains, Northeast, and Southeast
2. In your journal, write down all the information you can find on the types of food, clothes, and shelter the people of your region used.
3. Illustrate your findings and write a paragraph comparing and contrasting your two regions.

Process
When you have picked which two regions you want to study, watch the video and look at the website to find out:
1. What did the people eat?
2. Where did they get their food?
3. What did they wear?
