Process
Target games are when a player aims and propels an object towards a predetermined target. Two of the main skills assessed in target games are accuracy and precision.
ThePhysicalEducator.com explains that in target games, players score when they throw or strike an object closer to a target than their opponents.
The first recorded/documented target game was archery. It is believed that archery as a sport dates back to 10,000 BC and used in hunting as early as 20,000 BC. Archery has been included in the Olympics off and on since 1900. Make sure to check out the Shooting World Olympic Archery website where they discuss the history, rules, equipment used, and the different types of events (individual and team) archers compete in during the Olympic and World Archery Congress games.
