Teaching Tolerance

Introduction

America is made up of many different kinds of people. Some people were born here, but many more were immigrants to our country. Just as America is made up of many people, so is the smaller community of your school.

Yet there are times when differences can cause people to feel bad about themselves because they are different in some way. Because people sometimes perceive others to be different, they have a hard time accepting others' differences, and as a result may say harmful words or make others feel bad about themselves.

Schools around the country are having trouble with students bullying other students and many of the teachers don't know anything about it.

Bullying is a terrible epidemic that needs to be stopped.

Task

Your task, as a concerned citizen, is to educate your fellow students about what bullying is, why it happens, and how to stop it.

In order to educate other students about bullying, you must first educate yourself thoroughly on one aspect of bullying.  Once you have researched the topic, you will need to create a presentation on the topic.  Your presentation can be in the form of a Prezi or a Google Slides presentation.  You will be expected to present your information to other students in your class.
