This lesson was created for 3rd to 5th grade who wants to challenge themselves and have some fun while learning about what the three branches of government do. You are welcome to do more research on the government.
Introduction
How would you like to pretend to be the president? Or be able to make the laws? Or be a judge on the Supreme Court?
Today, we are going to talk about the three branches of government, the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches.
Task
Your mission today is to become the three branches of government and create a bill of your choice to become a law.

Be sure to pay close attention to what each branch of government does and who does what roles. I want you to also take notes as well.
Process
1. Get into three large groups:
Group 1- Legislative Branch
Group 2- Executive Branch
Group 3-Judicial Branch
2. Six students from group 1 will represent the House of Representative and Senate. One student from group 2 will represent the president. Nine students from group 3 will represent the Supreme Court judges.
3. Group 1 will create a bill which, they will have to agree on. House of Representatives will review the bill and decide whether it should become a law. Next, the Senate will vote on it or amend it.
4. Group 2 will validate it and the president will sign it
5. Group 3 will interpret the law with a trial. Challenges will be made for the law and against the law.
