Math: Olympics Track and Field Project

Introduction

All around the world, people train each day for the Olympics. In the sport, Track and Field, a popular event is called the 100 meter dash. People race and compete all the time, working hard to make it to the Olympics. Each day, world records are broken. But the record for the 100m dash hasn't been broken since 2009, set by Usaine Bolt

Task

Your task is to research the top ten athletes for the mens 100 meter dash. While doing this you will complete the following: a short essay, retrieve 3 pictures. as well as a diagram from fastest to slowest. The top 10 fastest men in history will be your goal for research requirement. This assignment is out of 45 points. 

Process

Throughout history, many men have raced for the title, "World's Fastest Man" Currently that title belong to Usaine Bolt. Before comparing and evaluating the data, you must research the top 10 fastest men in history.  

After completing this assignment, create an organized chart with the mens names and times in order. For the second part of the activity, evaluate their times. Compare the range and find the average of the data. 

Next, find three pictures of your chosen athlete from the top 10 list. The three pictures must meet these requirements: one must be running the 100m dash, one of them completeing a different event other than the 100m, and one of your choice. (MUST be school apropriate.) 

For the last part, pick one of the runners from the top 10. Research their family life, how they came to the sport of track and field, and what other events they like to do besides the 100m dash, if there are any. This essay ,ust be 5-10 sentences long, and be detailed and descriptive.
