Transitive and Intransitive verbs.

Introduction

  • What is the transitive verbs and intransitive verbs ?

  1. Transitive verbs : are action verbs that 's require an object to complete its meaning. Without an object the sentences won't be clear .
  2. Intransitive verbs : are action verbs that don't require an object to complete its meaning . However , intransitive verb can be followed by a complement .
Task

  • Find the verbs and the objects and at the following sentences:-

  1. She sleep at 8:00 pm.
  2. Mom washed the dishes.
  3. She smiles beautifully.
  4. Nada cleans the house everyday.
  5. He runs for five miles every morning.

  • Identify whether the following verbs are transitive or intransitive  :-

  1. I went to the department store .
  2. Alice gave me a book .
  3. I will bake this afternoon .
  4. I eat breakfast late .
  5. I eat before going to school .
Process

  • The class will divide into groups .

  • Each group must consist of five students .

  • Each group must to answer this task together .

  • The task must be finished in a week , and I will see your answers till you have finished .
