Introduction

 

The Vietnam conflict was a period of time in American history which was filled with great turmoil and generated discussion and dissension among various portions of the population.  With this project you will explore different web sites to learn about the history of the country as well as the events surrounding the Untied States involvement in the region.  By completeing this project you and your group will be able to answer the questions:

What were the major events of the Vietnam conflict?

How did the events of the conflict impact the view the American public had of the war?

As part of this class, you will be asked to research and present a timeline that explores the major events of the conflict.  Your presentation should be creative and make use of pictures, audio, and video to tell the story of the conflict.  

Task

For this project you will be asked to use the web to research information on the Vietnam conflict.  Below is a selection of web sites, but you are NOT limited to these choices.  During the research portion you will answer the questions listed below individually.  

After answering the questions you will be asked to create a presentation covering the US role in the Vietnam conflict.

Individually, use the information gathered during the webquest and CREAT A TIMELINE using Prezi which explores  the major events of the Vietnam War.  You will then present your Prezi to the class.  Be sure to be creative and to use various pictures/videos/audio in your Prezi.  Please refer to the rubric under the "Evaluation" tab for the requirements of this portion of the project.

DIRECTIONS

1.  Individually answer the questions under the "task" tab.  Do these on a separate sheet of paper.  You may use the web sites linked to on the tab, or chose your own.  Please answer the questions in complete sentences.  

2.  Create an account on prezi.com for yourself.  You will need to do this so you can share the presenation with the rest of the class.

3.  Create a timeline using Prezi which shows the main events of the Vietnam conflict.  See the rubric under the "Evaluation" tab for requirements.

4.  Present your timeline to the class.  Should be approximately a 5-10 minute presentation.  

5.  Be creative.  Have fun.
