Walking Through African American History

Introduction

 

The students will be learning about African American History and how they were about to change the world through their courage and bravery.

Task

The students will research the lives of African Americans who has contributed to the history of Americans life’s and the world. They will find key facts about the African Americans.

Process

Day 1:

Students will work on research

Day 2:

Students will finish up research and start on their presentation.

Day 3:

Students will finish up presentations.

Day 4:

Students will present their presentation.

Day 4:

The other students will present their presentations then will make a study guide.

Day 5:

Quiz on African American History

After the research is over the students will make a board builder or PowerPoint of their findings.

Students will listen and dance to music in the areas of the African Americans that we are learning.

There will be hands on activities for the students and stations set up for the students who need them.

The students will have the ability to research and learn about African American History.

The students will develop a understanding of the African American History and what it stands for.

Accomplishments that they have learned about African American history and have a better understanding of what happen for the freedom of all American races.

The students and the teacher will be able to explain the important events that occur doing the movement and how did their bravery change history.

 

Conclusion

Once the assignment is complete the student will understand the important part that African American played in American history not only to African American but to all Americans. They will be able to make a presentation and take a quiz on what they have learned.
