TASK ONE:

During this field trip I want you look at the different stops along the way and give a brief overview for each landmark.  Answer the following questions:

Why was this monument or building created? What is its' purpose?

Who is the person in the monument? What did they do throughout history to be so influential?

Who works in the buildings? What is their job title, what do they do for the American government?

TASK TWO:

After you have given a brief description of the different monuments and buildings, you are going to create a flyer, brochure, newspaper, or slide show that will lead us on a tour of 3 must see sites in Washington D.C.  Include your brief overview about the site as well as any interesting facts you have learned along the way.  Include a map that shows where these sites are located as well.
