6th Grade Creating a Video using MovieMaker

Introduction

This assignment was designed to teach students how to create a video in MovieMaker or PhotoStory.  This assignment is for students to learn how to apply research skills and manipulate MSmovie Maker software rogram.

Task

Students will use MSMovie Maker or PhotoStory to create a 20 frame video about a special day or holiday in the month of January.  Students will learn how to apply various designs, backgrounds and animations in the MovieMaker Program.

Process

What holidays/special days are for celebrations and honors others?

1. Go to holidayinsights.com and find some or  google holidays that are unique

2.  Choose a holiday and let Mrs. Hedgepeth know. 

3.  Research information on the day you choose.  i.e. read information about it from books, web sites, ask parents, grandparents, etc 

4.  Also,go to the website thisdayinhistory.com  and look for special things that may occur on the holiday you chose.

5.  Look for words, images to represent the holiday from the internet.

6.  Must have 20 different images/"frames" -Cannot have all pictures-your video has to have pictures and words (Special Quotes) to describe your holiday.

7.  Must have AT LEAST 5 frames with information about your holiday

8.  Must have a Title frame

9.  Must have credits

10. Go to moviemaker to create your movie about your holiday.

How.

  1. Open MSMovieMaker
  2. Click home and upload files
  3. Create a title and credit frame for your video.
  4. Arrange pictures.
  5. Upload your music
  6. Save as Project
  7. Save as Movie

  1. Look at the table above.
  2. Let Mrs. Hedgepeth know which Holiday/special day you plan to create your video about.  She will record your day on the sheet. ONLY ONE PERSON PER DAY/ IF ONE OR MORE CHOOSE THE SAME DAY, THEN THERE WILL HAVE TO BE A DRAWING.
  3. Also you must have 20 frames or more about your holiday with appropriate images.
  4. Must have at least 5 frams with information from holiday insights about your day.
  5. Find a song that is appropriate for your movie/video.  Google to see if there is a song appropriate for your holiday.  Let Mrs. Hedgepeth  know.
  6. Some songs may be instrumental, use your imagination.  Let Mrs. Hedgepeth know which song you plan to use  for your video.
  7. We may have to use the same song for a few of the special days. --We have to be flexible on the song.
