Introduction

Through this webquest you will explore how our air and water becomes polluted and learn about ways to prevent pollution and ways to clean up pollution. You will develop an action plan for our school to improve our school's impact on our local air and water in the environment.

Water is essential for all life on Earth. Humans need air to breathe and water to drink to live. Our use of air and water affects the environment in many ways.

Your task is to research some of the ways air and water become polluted, the effect on the environment of this pollution and to learn about what actions we can take to reduce pollution in our community. You will develop a stewardship plan to help address pollution caused by our school.

How might we implement what you have learned about air and water pollution to be good stewards of air and water in our community and improve our local environment?

Record your findings on the provided chart

Step 2: Using your findings, develop a list of ways our school could improve how we take care of the environment

Step 3: Choose ONE thing we could do and develop an action plan to address our school's impact on air or water use

Step 4: Share your idea with the class. You might choose to do an oral presentation, make an iMovie, use Prezi or another tech-based app. Make sure you get teacher approval for how you choose to present your findings.
