El arte español es uno de los tipos más influyentes de arte. Artistas como Diego Velázquez, Frida Kahlo y Pablo Picasso crearon el arte más colorido y fascinante e inspiraron a otros artistas a través de los años.

Usted y su equipo serán capaces de experimentar las dificultades y la prosperidad que vivieron a través de retroceder en el tiempo (go back in time) y documentarlos!

Congratulations! Your team (in your table group) has been chosen to be the first to use the new time machine specifically for art researchers. You will be going back in time and personally documenting Spanish artist. You will be able to see the process behind creating their art and their true meanings personally!

 Your team will be seeing if they use life experiences, if it’s their imagination or both that has brought forth their creative flow. In addition to this, your team will be recreating a piece of art from your artist and reliving the process they went through when they were creating it.

Tarea 1: El personaje misterioso (actividad en  grupo)

1.  Vas a analizar "el personaje misterioso" usando las preguntas y una foto del artista. 

Tarea 2: Biografía (actividad individual)

1. Vas a ver una biografía de Pablo Picasso en el Web. Después, vas a cambiar todos los verbos a pretérito o imperfecto, basado en tu conocimiento (knowledge) de los verbos. 

Tarea 3: Documentación de un artista

This assignment involves documenting a Spanish artist and recreating an art work while describing the process in which the artist created it. Each team will choose a Spanish artist from South America, the Caribbean, Mexico or Spain. 

1. You can either choose to have each member be responsible to gather and record information and also help in the creation of the timeline or you can have each member have a specific task in the team, whatever fits your learning process.

You will be documenting the process of the art being created but also your artist’s life. You will be asking questions like:

¿Dónde viven?

* ¿Cómo se comparan sus vidas con otras personas?

* ¿Qué tipo de medios y utensilios usaron?

* ¿Qué procesos tomaron para crear?

* ¿Qué tipo de reacciones tuvo el público en su obra de arte?

3. After you have gathered this info, create a biography/timeline on the artist using preterite tense verbs. You will be turning this in! Other group members, will help with the research.

Tarea 4: El diario de Picasso (actividad individual)

1. Ahora estás inspirado por las obras de arte de Picasso, vas a escribir un diario (journal/diary) de dos párrafos si fueras (if you were) Picasso. Usa 10 palabras de vocabulario, un comparativo/superlativo, y 5 verbos usando el pretérito o imperfecto.

• ¿Sabes quién es?  • ¿Cómo se llama? • ¿Qué nacionalidad tiene? • ¿A qué crees que se dedica? ¿Por qué? • ¿Por qué es conocido?

2. Piensa en el proceso de la creación de la obra, del estilo/movimiento,  y de la vida de Pablo Picasso. Take the first person for Picasso and BE CREATIVE!

Van a entregar el diario para una nota.  Please add to your diary what you have learned about Pablo Picasso, his life and his works in Spanish. 

I hope you enjoyed documenting your Spanish artists & writing a diary about Pablo Picasso. Although you may not be able to travel back in time again, there is always the world of cyberspace to come as second best!
