Careers in Engineering

Introduction

Helps students interested in engineering figure out the engineering field they would like to go in to. It shows you what it takes to become an engineer in each feild and gives you ways to make your final decision is what feild of engineering would would be interested in.  

Task

This Webquest is designed to help students who want to go in to engineering find a type of engineering to build a career upon. Students will research the different types of engineering fields and create a list of pros and cons that come with each type of engineering. After coming up with a list, they will select their ideal feild and state why that feild is perfect for them. 

Example:

 Petroleum Engineer

Pros:

High paying job, average salary around $140,000 a year.

Lots of job opennings

Working conditions, often in the comfort of an office

Cons:

Long hours 

Summary: I believe I would like to become a petroleum engineering because of the great pay and I wouldn't mind working more than 40 hours a week. I get to use my skills in math and physics and that's all I want.
