Gardening

Introduction

hhGardens make our planet so much better. Some people don't always garden because they don't think it's important for. Well not only does it make your planet- our your city- look better, it also helps water to flow through the ground when it doesnt rain. You have to water your plants, and when you do this you make the soil more fertile. I will be doing some projcts with students that involve watching videos and planting flowers.

Task

Reading Task #1 We will watch various videos about gardening and why it's important- not just for looks.

Science Task #2 We will plant fruits and vegetables and then watch a brainpop video followed by worksheet.

English Task #3 We can write a paragraph with peoples opinions- Do you think gardening is important or not? Why or why not?

Social Studies #4 We will see how many people used gardening back in the day and look at photos of peoples houses to see if they had any gardening back then.

Art Task #5 In art, we can draw gardens and have a contest and see who's is the best- judged by other students

Process

 gftgftReading Activity 1- Watch a video on gardening and discuss the importance.

yu7y7uScience Task 2- I will provide flowers and we will be planting them out front of the school, watch brainpop, and complete a brainpop activity worksheet.

English Activity 3- I will have the students write a essay, explaining rather the kids think that gardening is important or not important. This will be a 100 point project

Social Studies Activity #4- We will google images to see how many people used gardeining back then and discuss. Participation points will be given

Art Activity #5- In art, we will have a drawing contest and have children draw or find some type of art to greate out of gardening and see who wins (judged by other students)

Evaluation

Process 1- Students will be graded on how neat paper is done and the way the paper is headed and handwriting

Process 2- Students will be graded on participation for the flower planting part and when the brainpop comes, they will be graded by how many were correct and incorrect and also participation.

Process 3- Students will be graded on how well they got their point acrossed.

Process 4- Students will be given participation

Process 5- Students will be graded by the effort they gave and also some participation.
