Today we are going to use our area formulas to figure out how much carpet we need to purchase.
Task
Your Uncle Bill just moved into town and he has rented a house that needs new carpet. Uncle Bill does not want to make several trips to the store,he does not want to buy too much carpet, and he wants to stay within his budget, so it is your goal to calculate how much carpet he will need and to find the total cost.
The room that needs carpet is a living room that is 15 ft long and 12 ft wide.
Uncle Bill wants to buy the carpet from Home Depot. He wants a light colored carpet, and does not want to spend more than $600.
