Introduction
Since a long time ago, authors have written about heroes, kings, witches, dragons... Some stories may be true, but most of them are just fairy tales.
And one of the most famous stories about magic and bravery is the King Arthur's legend.
But... Who was Arthur?

There are lots of legends about King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and though most people agree that he really existed, some others disagree. Some histories say that there was a man, at the end of the 5th century who became king of Britain. He also was in charge of the British army, and he was a very brave soldier! He defended Britain from the Saxons, fighting in twelve battles! And that makes some people think that he was just a military commander and not a king. Others just think that Arthur was just the King of a small kingdom, and over time the story changed, until Arthur appeared as the king of all Britain.
But the most popular legends told that Arthur inherited Britain from his father, King Uther, becoming the King of Britain. No one knows where this stories about kings Arthur's family came from, surely from the bards who told these stories aloud.
The author: Thomas Malory
Thomas Malory was an English writer who wrote Le Morte d'Arthur. In this book, the author rewrites the traditional tales about King Arthur, Merlin, his wife Guinevere, the sword Excalibur and the Knights of the Round Table. It is considered one of the best references of King Arthur's story, and many other authors have used it as their principal source.
