Welcome to the Trojan War Hero WebQuest!!!!!
For this Webquest you will be researching the Trojan War. You will be assigned with the quest of finding out what it felt like to be a Trojan or Greek soldier during the Trojan war. The Trojan War was an important time in history where the Greeks and Trojans fought over the wife of Menelaus, the king of Sparta. You will Research Trojan Heroes, take quizzes, play games, and more! All of this will lead to a final project, where you use media and the tools of the internet to show what you have learned. You will be challenged to work and think with your partners, or by yourself to help you learn.

Task
You are a Trojan War hero of your choice, sent into battle by either Troy or Greece. This was an important time for the world, and your job is to see how it felt. To do this, you must research Greek and Roman heroes to see how they experienced the war. You will learn their life stories, keep track of their accomplishments, and even write a letter pretending to be one of them! This webquest will aid you on your quest to see how a Trojan War Soldier lived and thought.

This sheet will be what you use to answer the questions and activities required. Please make a copy of this and do not write your answers on the empty template we provided. If in a group, every member should fill this out seperately.

The first thing you are going to do on your road to becoming part of the Trojan War is figure out what Trojan hero you are going to be. Do this by taking the following quiz - https://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/story.php?title=mtexmdgynwng02
Once you know what hero you are please answer question 1 on your worksheet.
Now it's time to research our heroes!

Once you have read about the interesting life your hero lead, please answer questions 2 and 3 on your worksheet.

ROLEPLAY LETTER!
Now that you have a knowledge of your hero and the war, please write a 5-10 sentence letter pretending to be your hero writing to his friends back home. Write this on the space provided on the worksheet. Be sure to discuss at least one of the events you listed in question 4 and one contribution you listed in question 3 on your worksheet. Try to echo the personality of your hero in this letter.

You have now worked very hard on your quest to analyzing the war life of Trojan and Greek heroes. As a final project you will now use online media(youtube, glog, powerpoint, prezi, etc.) to show important events of you hero in the war. It must be at least 2 minutes long and show you really knew your hero and the war well. Include at least one contribution you listed in question 3. Also include what you would now do differently now that you have knowledge of the Trojan war, and why you would do this.If you are in a group choose ONE of your heroes to work on. Conclusion
As you can see, the Trojan war was an important time for all of us, but it was not just myth. The experiences and hardships you have learned about were all real, and the excitement and ferocity you felt were just as real. Your letter and project, aided by the research answers on your worksheet were all valuable assets in living like a Greek or Trojan soldier. You know what it was like, and you hopefully now can see the Trojan war as something other than just a chapter in your textbook. The soldier's life was not an easy one, but it was the best one.
