Today you will be embarking on a quest to answer these questions.

Task

  1. Complete a word search to find key terms that relate to measures of central tendency
  2. Define the terms
  3. Watch a video helping understand the terms further
  4. Practice calculating the mean, median, mode, and range of a set of data
  5. Create a poster with your group about one of the following terms
    • Mean
    • Median
    • Mode
    • Range

Process

Step 1:  Visit the given website to complete this word search to become familiar with key terms that deal with our concept.  Be sure to write the terms on the sheet that was provided. Happy Hunting!!  Once you have found all of the terms take a screenshot on your IPAD

Step 2:  Our next goal is to define each of the terms we found in our word search.  Click on the link provided and look up each of the terms.  Be sure to write the definition of each term on your sheet.  There are great practice problems that help you understand the concept further.

Step 4:  Now its time to practice!  Logon to KhanAcademy using your username and answer at least two questions about each of the terms correctly. The assignments are already added to your accounts

Step 5: It's poster time!!! Create your poster with your groups about one of these four topics.  Be sure to include

  • The definition
  • Procedure to find the measure
  • An example
  • Important information about the measure
  • The poster should be created on your buncee app
