Introduction
The purpose of this activity is for you to set up a budget that would allow you to live the type of life you want in the future. This includes finding a house, car, developing a budget, and finding a career that would match your income needs. This activity involves doing calculations, but it's main purpose is for you to have fun dreaming of your future and realizing what these dreams may cost you.
Task
Each of you will be required to set up a monthly budget, you will then be required to write your budget(on worksheet), and get your information form the internet, noting the sites that you used.
1.Preparation of you budget will include; finding a house, car, and setting up a budget. 2.The next step will be for you to find out what type of careers will provide you with the necessary income, and how much education is needed for these careers. 3.After completing the budget, you will exchange your budget with another group. At this point the group will review the project, looking for calculation errors and discuss how realistic the budget is.
Process
•There are 4 main tasks to complete for this Budget Webquest:–Task 1- Finding a House Research and list different houses.–Task 2- Finding a Car Research and list different cars.–Task 3- Setting up a Budget Fill out the Budget worksheet that was provided.–Task 4- Finding a Career Research and find different careers.
Next, spend time researching by looking at each website posted for each task. Take notes on what you find. After you have completed your research combine the information that you have gathered. Check the calculations, and check with an adult to see how realistic the budget is. Make any necessary changes based on your checking with an adult (NOT THE TEACHER).
