A Nation Evolved

Introduction

Hello Class,

In this webquest you will be following links to view documents, websites, videos and images that will help YOU to answer the prompt along the way.  We will be looking at the History of America from its founding to roughly 1820.  19th century America is known as Antebellum (the period before THE WAR.) This war was of course, The American Civil War.  Please move on to your task!!!

Task

PROMPT: You have now learned about the Nation and its development from its very foundations to the moment that can only be described as pivotol, the era of slight peace before the Unification of the United States began to crack at its seams.  Describe America's process toward sectionalism.  Could the nation avoid a Civil War from the start of its creation throughout the early 19th century? OR was the United States always sectioned off  between North and South throughout the 17th-19th centuries?

Process

Evaluation

You will be graded on a 10 pt scale.

10 pts for utilizing sources

10 pts for staying on task in class

10 pts for creating a well written essay response. (Three Paragraph Essay, 5 Sentences per each, at least one source in each!)

10 pts for spelling and grammar check

10 pts for creating a proper thesis statement "This paper will discuss...."  "Or this essay will argue...."

10 pts for PROPER CHICAGO OR MLA citation of sources

10 pts for turning this work in on time

10 pts for finding outside information as needed and citing them

10 pts for over all participation

10 pts for looking at this cute picture of Chamber. 

This will count as a double grade: Test and Participation
